In this series composed by two paintings by Rita Carvalho, titled "Cobre", the artist uses a plethora of diverse materials and techniques aiming to cause a certain doubt on the observer. Using a large sheet, soaked in stucco, and molded by hand to achieve a specific physical hardness and texture, the sheet, which normally has lighter/softer characteristics, is instead doted with an unexpected consistency from its usual state, keeping its visuals unaltered, mainly thanks to the sculpting of ripples. Finally, the paintings were covered in a tone of copper, once again, playing with the notion that the usually light sheet is in this case, something heavy and tough.
